one more flight

im in india but now we are off on one more flight, this one ill bring us to Guwahati--our mission site--which resides in the region of Assam. i've met up with my student partner BRiana and we're ready to set off on this journey together. I must sign off now 'cause we are aout to head to the airport for the flight from Delhi to Guwahati!

ARRIVED

i've arrived! This place is so different from USA, like it's a whole different world. You could even tell the difference from the sky. as we descended inot Delhi, i expected to see the same grids of light we see when we fly over large cities in other countries, but instead there were only various spots of light and the lights that were there were not the bright white we know but a softer warmer redish glow. FRom the plane it looked like groups of candle flames spread out across a dark background. AS we stepped out of the airport there were tons of little cabbies that loooked like they were brought from decades ago into our time....even the smell of the air had a hint of the spices that we will soon encounter. Even the hotel had a different charm to it. there are 2 rooms on every floor but each "room" is actually a suite where you share a common livingroom with 4 different bedrooms. and my shower.....well its a blue bucket of water and a "pourer" to clean yourself. This is a start to what will be an amazing adventure!!!!!

3 DAYS!

the countdown continues!!! completed my final shop...my bag is practically finished packing, my presentations are completed. not much left to do! =)

pre-india

this is mostly a test blog. its exactly 4 days before i leave for india!!!!!! and the anticipation is killing me! tomorrow after school i will begin packing and do my final shop!
